UBC’s sponsored research team supports research agreements for UBC researchers and their collaborators.
Our team supports UBC faculty to ensure that their research projects with industry, government, non-profit organizations and other academic institutions move forward in a timely manner. The benefits of these research projects that are realized through collaborative research agreements can lead to improved social, health, economic and environmental outcomes for Canadians.
Our sponsored research team is made up of dedicated contract negotiators and administrators who play a pivotal role in the intricate process of:
- Facilitating research projects with funders from industry, government and not-for-profit sectors, and
- Enabling UBC research projects where an external party provides proprietary data, information or materials.
We perform the negotiation and administrative tasks related to sponsored research agreements so you, the researcher, can remain focused on developing and pursuing opportunities to increase the impact of your UBC research. You can expect your Collaborative Research Agreement to be completed in approximately three months from receipt of request.
