Beaker Banter is a science entertainment podcast featuring innovators who are changing the world for the better. We have fun conversations, where listeners get to know the people and the stories behind the research. Learn about their inspiration, challenges, and of course, their discoveries. The podcast is presented in partnership with Innovation UBC and hosted by Dr. Marissa Lithopoulos, who is a classic triple threat - musician, comedian, and scientist. Dr. Marissa Lithopoulos

Dr. Marissa Lithopoulos is a scientist and storyteller. As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia, Marissa helps us understand how stem cells contribute to brain development and how we can harness this potential to treat conditions affecting the brain. She is the Co-Founder of Beaker Banter and Founder of Science, Stand-Up, & Song, initiatives that aim to bridge the gap between scientists and the public.

Andrew Johnston

Andrew Johnston

Andrew Johnston is a Professional Engineer with over a decade of experience developing automation systems within the manufacturing industry. His engineering work involves mechanical, electrical, and software expertise (in other words he designs and builds really cool robots!). Andrew is the Co-Founder of Beaker Banter and Director of Operations for Science, Stand-Up, & Song.
