Lab2Market Validate Foundations

Lab2Market Validate Foundations is a three-day intensive virtual training program aimed at providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the process and best practices for research commercialization. The program is designed for individuals at the outset of their journeys seeking to commercialize their ideas—those who envision how their technology can benefit the real world and wish to understand the steps required for commercialization. 

Upon completion, graduates will possess the knowledge necessary to initiate their commercialization endeavours and strategically position their projects to capitalize on various opportunities within the ecosystem, including Lab2Market's Validate program.

About Lab2Market

Lab2Market is a nationwide program that helps brilliant minds in graduate and postdoctoral programs reimagine their futures. Throughout the program, participants will discover a passion for entrepreneurship, build an entrepreneurial skill set, and connect with the network needed to help turn an idea into successful businesses. Innovation UBC in collaboration with SFU VentureLabs form the Pacific Hub for Lab2Market, serving BC and the Yukon.

 

Eligibility: This program is open to certificate and diploma students, undergraduate students, masters, PhDs, postdocs and faculty from any faculty or discipline, at any university or college in BC or the Yukon.

 

Program Overview:

  • Regional program: Delivered by the Lab2Market Pacific Hub

  • Develop your skills: For students, postdocs and faculty wanting to bring their research to market who want to gain essential skills and learn how to transition research into market-ready solutions

  • Explore commercialization: Learn how to take the first step and understand the commercial potential of your work

  • Commitment: 4-hour live virtual class across 3 days (12 hours total) 

  • Cost-free enrolment: Offered at no cost to participants

  • Format: Online
