UBC research partnerships generate meaningful solutions to urgent challenges.
Each year, UBC partners with industry, government, and non-profits on more than 2,500 collaborative research projects.
These relationships build knowledge, research expertise and infrastructure to tackle issues at every scale, from solving proprietary technical problems to addressing global health, social and environmental challenges.
Who can help?
Finding a Research Partner
Our Innovation Partnerships team helps industry find ways to engage and partner with the university.
Creating a Formal Partnership
The University-Industry Liaison Office (UILO) establishes contractual research relationships between the university and industry, government, community, and nonprofit partners.
The Office of Community Engagement offers low-barrier funding for not-for-profit community partners and helps community-based organizations discover opportunities to collaborate and partner with UBC.
The Indigenous Research Support Initiative
The Indigenous Research Support Initiative (IRSI) at UBC has been established to enable collaborative research with Indigenous communities, university researchers and other partners.
