J.P. Heale has worked at University-Industry Liaison Office (UILO) at The University of British Columbia since 2001, most recently in the capacity of Managing Director at Innovation UBC.
J.P. graduated from UBC in 1997 with a doctorate from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and subsequently worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Research Associate. J.P. received an MBA from Simon Fraser University in 2001 while working as Manager of Business Development for a UBC spin-off biotech company. In 2001, J.P. joined the UILO and took on the role of Managing Director in February of 2014. J.P. enjoys participating in the creation of spin-off companies based on University technologies.
