This March, members across BC's innovation ecosystem gathered to celebrate the work and impact being created in cleantech at the 2022 BC Cleantech Awards presented by Foresight. We are delighted to share that Innovation UBC was announced the winner of the 'Educational Institution' category, recognizing 'a powerhouse of educational excellence that is championing the cleantech future'.
The BC Cleantech Awards recognize the innovators, educators, associations, and companies that are having the biggest impact on our province’s growing green economy.
A powerhouse of educational excellence
Much of the work coming through The University of British Columbia and Innovation UBC is a result of our ecosystem’s collective push to accelerate cleantech solutions and further the journeys of early-stage entrepreneurs making positive change through climate solutions.
Innovation UBC launched the Climate Venture Studio in 2020 in response to UBC's declaration of a climate emergency, leveraging our proven track record of developing climate based ventures into game changing solutions. The Studio works with ventures to identify climate market opportunities, nurture high-potential climate solutions emerging from UBC research and help entrepreneurs build impactful ventures.
