For the first time this year, Entrepreneurship Immersion Week 2023 (EIW) will be hosting the Regional Ecosystem Showcase (RES), a startup pitch event featuring companies across our province who are creating transformative solutions in climate, human health and social impact.
As part of our goal to create awareness and demonstrate the tremendous impact BC entrepreneurs are having on Canada and the world at large, we opened applications beyond the Innovation UBC community to welcome ventures from around the province and BC’s accelerator network to showcase their traction and investor-ready potential.
RES ventures are tackling problems ranging from intelligent water rescue and safe and accessible menstrual care to clean energy and healthcare efficiency, showing the range and scope of solutions being addressed across BC.
Teams will be presenting at the Showcase September 27 at UBC Robson Square on Day 2 of EIW, exhibiting in advance of the formal pitch event through booth displays and networking with the wider Immersion Week audience.
Evaluation Committee
We were thrilled to welcome Irene Dorsman, Director & CEO of Angel Forum, Aaron Stuart, COO of WUTIF Capital and CEO of VANTEC Angel Network as well as Grant Lawrence, President of Valhalla Angels, Vancouver & Kelowna, to decide the top 10 teams moving to the stage.
“British Columbia is a hot spot for Canadian Innovation, attracting researchers, entrepreneurs and thought leaders from around the world to solve some of the most pressing problems we face today. This will be on full display at the Regional Ecosystem Showcase, highlighting and celebrating the impact we are creating as a province.”

What you can expect
Entrepreneurship Immersion Week brings together storytellers and movement builders from across our ecosystem, to share their insights on the strategies and tactics that helped them transform their ideas to impact.
As part of our theme for EIW 2023, our focus is on building momentum and generating conversations around the Climate Crisis and Public Health, bringing entrepreneurs, researchers and thought-leaders together to speak on this topic.
Through the Regional Ecosystem Showcase, we will hear from entrepreneurs across British Columbia who are putting research and inventions to action. We can’t wait for you to meet and interact with our Showcase participants, demonstrating first-hand the enormous value and impact our region is creating!
